Details
Un divan à Tunis is a heartwarming comedy that follows Selma, a young Tunisian woman who returns to her hometown of Tunis after living in Paris for several years. Filled with enthusiasm and a dream to bring psychotherapy to her community, Selma decides to open her own practice.
As Selma sets up her clinic, she encounters a series of challenges and cultural barriers. Tunisians are not accustomed to the idea of therapy and are skeptical of its benefits. Undeterred, Selma takes on a diverse range of clients, from a bride-to-be struggling with pre-wedding jitters to a taxi driver grappling with his own personal issues.
Through her sessions, Selma not only helps her clients rediscover themselves but also starts a dialogue about mental health in a society that has long neglected it. Along the way, she navigates the complexities of bureaucracy, deals with skeptical relatives, and confronts her own past.
With a delightful blend of humor and sensitivity, Un divan à Tunis explores themes of identity, culture, and the power of human connection. It sheds light on the importance of breaking taboos surrounding mental health and creates a heartwarming and relatable story that will leave viewers both entertained and enlightened.
