Details
The Ides of March is a gripping political drama that follows the story of Stephen Meyers, a young and talented communications expert who works as the second-in-command for Governor Mike Morris's presidential campaign. Stephen is not only brilliant at his job, but he is also a true believer in Morris and his ideals.
In the midst of the heated Ohio primary, Stephen is approached by the campaign manager of Morris's opponent, who offers him a job. This unexpected encounter puts Stephen's loyalty and beliefs to the test. At the same time, Morris's attempt to secure the endorsement of a influential North Carolina Senator faces a setback.
As the story unfolds, Stephen finds himself drawn to Molly Stearns, a young campaign intern who becomes the object of his romantic attention. However, as Stephen gets more deeply involved in the high-stakes world of politics, it becomes apparent that both he and Molly have secrets that could have severe consequences.
The Ides of March explores the themes of ambition, betrayal, and moral compromise in the pursuit of power. The film raises important questions about the importance of one's career, the pursuit of victory, and the preservation of virtue in the ruthless world of politics.
With a talented ensemble cast featuring Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, and Philip Seymour Hoffman, The Ides of March provides a thought-provoking and intense examination of the dark underbelly of political campaigns.
