Rey gave up his chance at college and love to raise his young half-brother Oliver, who looks nothing like him - "same mom, different dads." But when his meth addicted mother, Lola, is released from prison determined to rebuild her family, Rey kidnaps his younger brother and escapes their desert home for the California coast, chasing the dream that he let go years ago. Lola turns to her ex-husband Bo to help find her missing boys, bringing up ghosts from their own failed relationship. With nothing but the open road ahead of them, and Lola and Bo in close pursuit, Rey and Oliver race away from a past they never wanted, towards a future that could have been.

The two main characters, Jim and Amanda (Mark and Sarah) were high school sweethearts, but as time has passed they moved on with their lives and they have now become adults who have had their own different experiences along the way and now that they have reunited, we find they still have that chemistry between them. This was great casting, these two actors work really well together, normally I throw 9's and 10's all over the place These characters are so natural, so done with this earth in the sense that they live in our world, they are believable and now need an escape even if it is just for a single day. This movie focuses on just them, these two people for the entire film and I cannot thank Mark Duplass for this (he is the screenwriter) because I have not seen a film where the two main characters are the only characters, I didn't get sick of them, I did not find them boring, ever, they were very fleshed out and they felt like genuine, real people who were put in this situation and now find out that they work really well together.

The Colonel and his men are also on the plane. They takeover the plane. When the tower learns of the deviation a government man arrives and upon learning of the Colonel's presence on the plane sends a team to get on board the plane while in flight. When they get on, the Colonel and his men find them and kill them except for the leader who pretended to be dead. Now he alone has to stop the Colonel and his only help is the flight attendant.
