Monday in the Sun is a heartfelt Spanish film set in Vigo, a port city in 2001. The story revolves around a group of six men who used to work at a shipyard that has now closed down, leaving them jobless. In their search for purpose and meaning in life, they find solace in spending their days at La Naval, a bar owned by one of them.
Each of the characters copes with their unemployment in unique ways. Rico runs the bar and tries to provide for his sharp-witted 15-year-old daughter.
