På slaget tolv (2009) follows the story of Phoebe McNamara, a successful female police lieutenant and expert hostage negotiator. Phoebe lives with her agoraphobic mother Essie and their toddler daughter Carly. A disagreement arises during a hostage negotiation when a uniformed cop named Arnie Meeks fails to follow Phoebe's policy implementation, leading to a heated feud between the two.
Captain David McVee and Phoebe's new boyfriend, businessman-philanthropist Duncan Swift, support her in the ongoing feud. They suspect that Meeks is behind a wave of violence specifically targeting Phoebe. However, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that their assumption is completely wrong.
The film explores Phoebe's struggle to balance her personal and professional life, all while trying to unravel the mystery behind the violence aimed at her. As events unfold, Phoebe must confront her own fears and vulnerabilities in order to protect herself and her loved ones.
Set in a suspenseful atmosphere, På slaget tolv highlights the challenges faced by a hostage negotiator and the personal sacrifices that come with the job. Ultimately, the film raises questions about trust, loyalty, and the lengths one must go to in order to protect the ones they love.
