The Bronze
Details
From the creators of Little Miss Sunshine, The Bronze (2015) is a hilarious and irreverent sports comedy that will keep you laughing from start to finish. The film centers around Hope Ann Greggory, a foul-mouthed and self-centered former gymnast who won a bronze medal in the Olympics years ago and still revels in her local celebrity status. However, living off her past exploits, Hope finds herself stuck in a small town, living a stagnant life with no promising future.
When a young gymnast named Maggie Townsend emerges as a potential Olympic champion, Hope's life takes an unexpected turn. Faced with an opportunity to train Maggie and secure her own relevance once again, Hope reluctantly agrees to take on the role of coach. As the two unlikely partners clash and form an unlikely bond, the film delves into the complexities of competition, personal growth, and the lengths one will go to protect their own legacy.
Featuring a standout performance by Melissa Rauch as Hope, The Bronze takes audiences on a raunchy journey full of crude humor and unfiltered dialogue. The film delves into the darker side of the gymnastics world while also showcasing the resilience and determination of its characters. With a perfect balance of comedy and heart, The Bronze will make you laugh, cringe, and ultimately root for its flawed yet lovable characters.
