In Welcome to the Rileys, a man named Doug Riley is mourning the loss of his daughter, which has put a strain on his marriage to his wife Lois. During a business trip to New Orleans, Doug meets Mallory, a troubled teenage girl working as a stripper. Feeling a sense of responsibility for Mallory's well-being, Doug decides to stay in New Orleans and help her. As he becomes more involved in Mallory's life, Doug begins to find purpose and redemption in caring for her.
Meanwhile, Lois is left to confront her own emotions and loneliness back home. As the Rileys navigate their separate struggles, they must ultimately come to terms with their grief and find a way to move forward together.
